ACZ-3/4 3/4 CORROSION GRENADE - The device works on the principle of a "sacrificial anode," a method long used in the marine and plumbing industries.
- Function: When installed, the zinc unit becomes the "weakest metal" in the system in terms of electrochemical potential. This causes the zinc to corrode (ionize) instead of the other, more expensive metal parts of the air conditioner or heat pump.
- Protection: It is specifically designed to protect aluminum fins from deterioration caused by exposure to salt air and other corrosive environments, helping to maintain the system's efficiency and extend its operational life.
- Installation: It is a "clamp-on" corrosion inhibitor that is simple to install on the 3/4" suction line of the AC unit and provides years of continuous protection.
