TROLATEMP Freeze Protection Control
TROLATEMP Freeze Protection Control, is a low-voltage safety device designed to prevent air conditioning evaporator coils from freezing. The control acts as a thermostatic switch that monitors the temperature of the suction line.
- Cut-out (38°F): When the sensor detects a temperature of 38°F, it breaks the electrical circuit to the compressor relay, shutting it down to prevent ice buildup.
- Cut-in (48°F): Once the temperature rises back to 48°F, the control remakes the circuit, allowing the compressor to restart.
- Fan Operation: While the compressor is disabled, the indoor fan typically continues to run, using the remaining cold coil to provide temporary cooling while the ice melts
