- Insulation R-Value: It has an R8 insulation rating, which provides high thermal efficiency to help save energy and prevent condensation. R8 ducts contain about 2 inches of insulation.
- Material: The duct features a flexible inner core typically made of a double lamination of tough polyester encapsulating a steel wire helix, which is wrapped in a thick blanket of fiberglass insulation. The outer jacket is a heavy-duty, scrim-reinforced, metallized polyester (silver) vapor barrier.
- Dimensions: The duct has a 9-inch inside diameter and generally comes in a 25-foot length, often compression-packaged for easier storage and handling.
- Performance: It is designed for low-to-medium pressure systems with a maximum rated airflow of up to 6000 feet per minute (fpm).
- Certifications: It is ETL listed and meets UL 181 standards for Class 1 air ducts, as well as NFPA Standards 90A and 90B. Many versions are also Greenguard Certified for indoor air quality.
